Start the day with our Day of Caring Kickoff Breakfast from 8AM-10AM at the Operating Engineers Local 150 Union Hall located at 2193 W. 84th Place, Merrillville, Indiana, where volunteers, sponsors, and community partners come together to celebrate the power of service before traveling to their volunteer sites throughout Northwest Indiana.
Day of Caring 2025 demonstrated the incredible impact we can make when Northwest Indiana unites for good. More than 650 volunteers rolled up their sleeves at 83 project sites, contributing an estimated $4.4 million in time and labor to improve schools, parks, neighborhoods, and nonprofit facilities throughout the region.
In 2026, we’re going bigger. With more than 150 volunteer projects across Northwest Indiana, Day of Caring is bringing people together to roll up their sleeves, connect with their neighbors, and give back to the communities we call home.
Whether you already know where you want to volunteer or you’re not sure where your time and talents could make the biggest difference, there’s a place for you. Together, we can turn a day of volunteering into something bigger: new connections, stronger communities, and neighbors helping neighbors.
