Donald Rome serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer at Centier Bank, Indiana’s largest private family-owned bank. In this role, he oversees enterprise risk management, compliance, operational risk, fraud prevention, governance, and regulatory relations, helping ensure the long-term strength and stability of one of Indiana’s leading financial institutions.
With more than two decades of leadership experience in the financial services industry, Donald has developed extensive expertise in enterprise risk management, credit administration, regulatory compliance, strategic planning, and organizational governance. Prior to joining Centier Bank, he held senior risk management positions with major financial institutions, where he led initiatives focused on strengthening operational performance, risk oversight, and sustainable growth.
Donald is widely respected for his collaborative leadership style and commitment to building strong organizations through effective governance and sound decision-making. His professional philosophy emphasizes balancing prudent risk management with innovation and growth, enabling organizations to achieve their missions while maintaining long-term resilience.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Donald has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to community service. He has served in leadership roles with nonprofit and professional organizations, including the Risk Management Association and Head Start programs supporting early childhood education. He has also volunteered as a youth soccer coach and church treasurer, reflecting his dedication to strengthening families and communities.
Donald earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Montana and a bachelor’s degree from Montana State University. He is also a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School.
